ABBY INGLETT BRANT is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance for thirteen years in her home state, Wisconsin. She studied ballet in the pre-professional program from her mentors and teachers; Kennet Oberly, from the Stuttgart Ballet, and Larissa Oberly, from the Estonia National Ballet. Abby spent summers training at the Classical Ballet Academy of Minnesota, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, and the University of Utah, her alma mater. In the spring of 2021, she graduated magna cum laude with her BFA in Ballet and a minor in Disability Studies. Abby joined Ballet Spartanburg as a company dancer of 2021. She has performed featured roles in Lona Gomez's contemporary ballet works, I am, I am, I am, and Passages. She has also performed in many classical roles such as The Snow Queen, The Nutcracker, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty. Abby is very excited for her 4th season with Ballet Sparanburg!

Carlos Agudelo, 2023 SC Governor's Award for an Individual

Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion. Ballet Spartanburg is honored by the support of the South Carolina Arts Commission and the recognition of Carlos Agudelo."
