NUTCRACKER, DECEMBER 13-15, 2024: For 34 years, families celebrate the joy and excitement of Clara’s adventures with her Nutcracker Prince. For the fourth season, the exquisite music of the Spartanburg Philharmonic played the most celebrated score of Tchaikovsky. With new snow costumes for the iconic snow scene, snow falling like an icy, white curtain and the Nutcracker market with new nutcrackers every season, Christmas begins with the tradition of The Nutcracker, directed by Carlos Agudelo.
TANGOS & TAPAS, JANUARY 23-25, 2025: The Studio One Series offers an evening of Latin flair with the fun and dazzling dance of love-the tango. Tangos from well-known ballets and original choreographed pieces will be part of the evening enhanced by tapas and vino before the performance. The tango, originating from Argentina, embodies many cultural roots, is a dance of two people who connect their bodies as one communicating passion, desire and of course, love. THE MIGHTY CASEY, MARCH 21-23, 2025: Casey and the Mudville Nine are ready to knock this ballet out of the park! Based on the poem, Casey at the Bat and Casey- Twenty Years Later, created by Lisa De Ribere for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, this is the first baseball ballet for Spartanburg. With an audience who warms up the players by singing favorites such as, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, and “Sweet Caroline”, the audience will cheer on the team, laugh at the ball players setting up to bat, and follow a stage filled with baseball lovers. Hey Spartanburg, Let’s Play Ball! This ballet is dedicated to the opening of the new MiLB Feld and the community who will gather for future generations. Directed by Lona Gomez.
