Creative Dance Summer Sessions blend the school year curriculum with summer fun! This class introduces students to musical, body, and spatial awareness through motor-skill-based dance activities. It explores relationships, such as, how dance is organized through patterns and storytelling and music’s connection to movement. *Girls wear leotard and ballet slippers. Boys wear bike shorts, t-shirt, and ballet slippers.

Raise your paws if you love Paw Patrol and Secret Life of Pets because you’ll PAWSitively love this fun ballet and creative movement dance camp! Tiny dancers can bring their favorite stuffed pet (dog, cat, character, anything goes!) and together they’ll unleash the fun on four PURRfect dancing adventures: Pet PAWrade & Disco Dance PAWty are just a few fun events we have planned! This dance PAWty will be a fun time…FUR sure. *Girls wear leotard and ballet slippers. Boys wear bike shorts, t-shirt, and ballet slippers.

Our all-time favorite camp… Frozen is back! What little girl or boy didn’t love the movie Frozen and now Frozen 2? Now they can enjoy a camp featuring the Frozen music from both hit movies!! Campers will make special sparkly silver and blue tutus, magic wands that make everything turn to ice, and crowns that glisten with snow and ice. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy this fun camp centered around this wintry season! Parents will be invited into this magical snow land on the last day for a special performance.* Girls wear leotard and ballet slippers. Boys wear bike shorts, t-shirt and ballet slippers. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo….It’s Cinderella Camp for YOU!Ages 4-7June 23 - June 27 | 10:00 - 12:00 | $150

Inviting all little princesses and princes to the royal ball. We are excited about dance, music, crafts, and, of course, some snacks. Attendees will learn a dance and that they will present at the end of the dance camp. Best not to be late or you may turn into a pumpkin. * Girls wear leotard and ballet slippers. The Little Mermaid Camp with Ariel and her FriendsAges 5-8June 9 - June13 | 1:00 - 3:00 | $150

Join Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, and more underwater friends under the sea for a magical adventure in dance and crafts! Each day will consist of a ballet class, mermaid crafts, a few “crabby” crafts, and dancing to The Little Mermaid’s songs. Plus, watch their creativity soar with arts, and crafts that brings their favorite princess tales to life. It's Time to Roll and Tumble! Tumble and Jazz CampAges 5 -9July 28 - August 1 | 11:00 - 12:00 | $75

Don't let summer break turn your dancer's flip into a flop! Our Summer Tumbling Camp will emphasize flexibility, technique, and safe skill progression while introducing students to more advanced tumbling skills. Dancers will rotate through a series of challenging drills, and exercises followed by a structured, high-intensity, high repetition tumbling circuit with spotters assisting tumblers on more advanced skills while learning some jazz movements.

Luck of the Irish Step CampAges 5 and upJune 9 - June 13 | 10:00 - 12:00 | $150

It is time for a WEE bit of the luck of the Irish! The BEST IRISH STEP class taught by Pam Pierce, who brings over 22 years of experience in teaching Irish Step Dance to students. Join us for a week of amazing instruction as you learn the traditional dance of Ireland. *Wear t-shirt, shorts, socks, ballet slippers or Irish dance shoes.

Learn dances, characterization, and act scenes from Peter and the Wolf. Composted by Sergei Prokofiev, Peter and the Wolf features a wonderful score and a story about teamwork. Double your fun and skill with this class. Dance and act with Mr. Will for the week!

Carlos Agudelo, 2023 SC Governor's Award for an Individual
Ballet Spartanburg's Artistic Director, Carlos Agudelo, was awarded the South Carolina Governor's Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission on May 23, 2023, at the Chapman Cultural Center. The award was presented by Mr. David Platt, Executive Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. "We recognize the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, devotion and love for dance that Carlos has gifted to our community out of his passion for all to experience the arts for the past 32 years. We are overjoyed that Carlos has been recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission, " Teresa S. Berline, Executive Director. "The South Carolina Arts Commission is an extraordinary organization in our state which promotes and advocates opportunities in the arts which values equality, access, diversity and inclusion. Ballet Spartanburg is honored by the support of the South Carolina Arts Commission and the recognition of Carlos Agudelo."
